Jamaica 2006

In 2006 my family spent a week in Jamaica. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Negril. We had a great time being together and exploring the island. The day we went to Dunn's River Falls and Rick's Cafe was amazing. I loved every minute of the beach, sun, free drinks and my awesome family.

Malaysia & Thailand 2000

In the summer of 2000, I traveled with my church youth group to Penang, Malaysia to assist an international school with cleaning, repairing, reorganizing and updating. We worked hard and learned a lot. Our pastor and guide grew up in Malaysia and was instrumental in helping us understand a culture so different from our own. We jet skied in the Straights of Malacca, parasailed by running off the beach, visited temples, went cliff jumping in the jungle and fed monkeys on the side of the road. We took a train to Thailand and toured the Grand Palace and Botanical Gardens. We had a few major incidences and disasters (one with armed soldiers on the train and one with our river taxi when the engine exploded), but the experience was life changing and invaluable.
